Virgin Active Riverside Club Closure: Club Members

Dear Valued Member,

At Virgin Active, we continually review the state and performance of our health clubs to ensure we provide the best possible experience to our members. As part of this ongoing process, we sometimes make the difficult decision to close clubs that have reached the end of their intended lifespan.

After careful consideration, we would like to inform you that Virgin Active Riverside will permanently be closing on 31 July 2025. Having reached its 10-year milestone, the club is no longer able to meet the modern standards of design, innovation, and experience that our members have come to expect. Even with significant renovations, the site would not be able to deliver the future-forward Virgin Active experience we strive to offer, nor remain sustainable in the long term.

We understand this news may be disappointing, and we are committed to supporting you during this transition.

As part of our commitment to your wellness journey, we are offering Riverside members full access to Virgin Active Nelspruit (Mbombela) at your current Riverside membership rate for the remainder of 2025. From 1 January 2026, your membership will adjust to the prevailing Nelspruit club rate.

If you choose to transfer to a different Virgin Active club, your membership will be updated to that club’s rate from 1 August 2025.

We truly value your loyalty and thank you for being part of the Riverside community. Our team is available in-club to assist you with any questions and help make your transition as smooth as possible.
