Water conservation is understandably top of mind for many in our community, and we want to share how Virgin Active is already operating responsibly when it comes to water use.
All taps and showerheads in our club are fitted with water-wise, low-flow aerators. While standard fittings typically use between 12 and 15 litres of water per minute, ours use just 6 to 8 litres, reducing water consumption by up to 50% without impacting comfort.
Our main chiller plant is air-cooled rather than water-cooled, which means there is no continuous water draw required for cooling operations.
Virgin Active also has no industrial or process-heavy water use on site. Our water usage is limited to essential club operations such as showers, ablutions and cleaning.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely, and we ask members to be mindful of water use, particularly when using showers and basins. Small actions make a meaningful difference when added together.
